To pair the DIRECTV remote control to the STB, perform the following steps:
1. Press and HOLD Rewind and Fast Forward at the same time for 3 second until the visible LED’s starts flashing.
Clearing Pairing
Press and hold Dash and Enter at the same time for 3 seconds until the LED’s flash. The RCU will unpair from the STB.

Does work on the new Gemini Air….BUT the ‘pairing’ differs. Instead…. For the Gemini AIR : You navigate and click to Home Setup System Remotes and Devices ADD A REMOTE ….and follow the onscreen directions. This remote also controls the volume on Denon theatre sound system, and power for Samsung TV!

SS customer service was spot on. I asked them to confirm this remote was compatible with the latest ATT dongle device. Once I received the new remote I was able to quickly pair it with my device. Getting my wife her own remote will avoid future frustration when I doze off in my chair! My only complaint about the remote design is that the keys light up only when you press one and for a very short time. Buttons are too dark very easy to select wrong one in low lighting!

Worked immediately with our new Gemini box. Great price. DirecTV refused to give or sell us another one and even told me that a second one wouldn't communicate with the Gemini box. We can see our only TV from both the living room and the kitchen/dining/office area and like to have a remote handy in each place.
